The market in Risan has daily fresh vegetable/ fruit stalls. On Sundays there is a delightful market with goods of all types on sale. From gorgeous melons to ‘bras’ or saucepans, heavenly fruit, tomatoes, plants or shorts to go swimming. The two supermarkets (‘Idea’ opposite the Mosaics, ‘Aroma’ between the Risan Restaurant and the Post Office) provide a conventional range of food and non-food items. Neither is large, but one can buy most things there and it is good quality. The butchers know their business, but the cuts are not always like one has them at home.
The bakery shop, Hipnos, next to the Post Office sells its own bread and other baked products, including the standard Balkan hot snack ‘burek’ filled with either cheese or spinach. Stationery and small gift items are sold in Pyramid, at the rear of the building housing the post office. There are two shops for summer dresses and swimwear in the market square. The kiosks at the road junction by the park and near the market square sell local language newspapers and magazines, as well as cigarettes and mobile phone top-up vouchers.
General Tourist information
As well as the municipal tourist office at the Mosaics, there is a tourist agency, Amfora in Obala Nikole Đurkovića, about 80m from the Hipnos bakery.

Drivers do not speak English, bit it is getting better and it is safer always to agree the cost of a journey before setting off.
Journeys are usually charged at €1 per km. The main bus stops in Risan are at the Post Office. Buses between Kotor and Herceg Novi operate about a half- hour frequency during the day. Have small change with you.
