It has been a busy year. We had guests from the US, Israel, Germany, the UK, and other countries. It was nice to be able to offer our accommodations to guests who came for the first time to Montenegro, and they seemed to be impressed, Montenegro is trying hard to update their facilities. We have met many different cultures and their requirements.
Montenegro is becoming more aware of climate change the long-term shift in the Earth’s average temperatures and weather conditions.
With temperatures ranging from 24 degrees C to 40 degrees C and strong summer sun with very little rain, the water dries up in the lakes.Storms have increased and tear through the infrastructure, causing a lot of damage.

We have to learn to adapt, at EcoHouse, built to Passivhaus Standard, we are trying to keep areas on the terrace available for sunbathing or being in the shade, to give our guests the choice. We are growing Kiwis, which need to be pruned, as they grow fast. Our wines we inherited they are quite old now. Other plants depending on the season, are a delight to watch. It all needs care and also water, which we collect from harvesting our rainwater from the roof, but often it is not enough.
There is a saying:- the future of wellness is the architect of ‘care’ ! Which suggests that individuals, or designers and systems need to proactively and intentionally design environments, lifestyles, that prioritize and support holistic well-being.
