Autumn Time in Risan, Montenegro

It is heavenly late summer weather, guests are still going swimming and sunbathing for hours most days. The sun shines, it is truly hot. The foliage of our vines are just starting to turn, we are taking some leaves off to expose the grapes even more to the sun.
Grapes will not continue ripening once picked from the vine they are ripe and ready to harvest when they are rich in color, juicy, full-flavored, easily crushed but not shriveled, and plump. They should be tightly attached to the stems. I am ampling different grapes from different clusters, and the taste is between sweet and tart. Our terrace wall and canopy have been quite dramatic while changing from spring time to now, full bodied grapes are hanging there, heavenly.
Our garden walls have been extended, keeping the sheep- there were masses today looking in, but we will also have a gate which is not ready yet. The cows we managed to persuade to move on as well, things are looking great. Plan for the next few weeks? Hoping for continued sunshine preparing for harvesting the grapes, making wine and grape jam! Lots to do. Not to forget, planting another Kiwi, extending our anopy frame for the grapes/vines, ready for growing next spring roses and kiwi, and pruning the vine carefully.
